WILMINGTON, MA — Here are highlights of the Wilmington Police Log for Saturday, June 8, 2019:Anonymous caller reported a female party “flipping out” on the corner of Taplin Avenue and Wisser Avenue. Police responded. Female party was picked up prior to police arrival. There was a dispute over a cell phone. (2:15am)A caller reported one of the porta potties near the Fourth of July Building was knocked over during the night. (5:18am)Police noted a building on Grove Avenue was spray painted. (6:45am)A walk-in party reported his vehicle was struck while parked unattended in the Target parking lot. (10:53am)Kevin MacDonald (56, Wilmington) was arrested for Assault & Battery with a Dangerous Weapon, Threat To Commit A Crime, and 2 counts of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon. (12:10pm)A car struck a bicycle at Jacquith Road and Hardin Street. No injuries noted. (12:58pm)A red iguana escaped from an Aldrich Road residence, but was quickly found. JD Institute of Fashion Technology officially launched Tarun Shienh, CMD Premia Group as the mentor for the students of interior design at Eros International Continental recently. The event witnessed the association of two eminent personalities, Shienh who is a renowned name in the field of real estate and RC Dalal who is a pioneer in the field of design education. Rohit Bal, mentor for Fashion Design department at JD Institute also graced the occasion. Talking about the event the mentor said, ‘I am very excited and honoured to be a part of JD Institute of Fashion Technology. The Indian interior infrastructure sector is growing at a CAGR of 5-7%. Employment of interior designers is expected to grow 19 percent till 2018, faster than the average for all occupations. This gives immense opportunities and scope for one to make a career in interior design. My aim is to enhance knowledge about the industry, design, layout, material selection and market intelligence’.Dalal said having Shienh is a great way to boost the learning and the exposure of jediiians. ‘We wanted to raise the bar for student designers and give them an experience of live projects, while also enabling them to get insights about the industry,’ he said.
Kolkata: The facility of applying online for driving licence will become available in all the Regional Transport Offices and Assistant Regional Transport Offices in the state before Durga Puja.This comes at the time when the state government has made production of driving licence mandatory to buy motorbikes, a step taken to check road accidents.According to a senior official of the state Transport department, at present there are as many as 50 offices across the state from where driving licence is given to applicants following necessary tests. With inauguration of the ARTO at Katwa that is scheduled on September 3, the total number of the offices that deal with driving licence will go up to 51.The official said that till date, there are 28 such offices where the facility of giving online application to get driving licence is available.”We have set a target to complete developing infrastructure in all the offices for the same and we are hopeful that the facility will become available in all the offices before Durga Puja,” the official said. Subsequently, an applicant has to proceed as directed to key in all necessary information, including some mandatory fields. Finally, an application number will get generated, with which the applicant has to visit the RTO or ARTO along with all relevant documents in his or her district, to give biometric details and get the date and time when he or she can sit for an online test.The applicant will pass the test if six out of ten answers are correct and gets the learner licence within two days. In case of failure, one can again sit for the test after seven days of the first one. The same process has to be followed online to get the date and time for the trial for the permanent licence, between the 30th and 180th day from the day the learner licence is issued.
